The Division of Agronomy is one of the most important sections of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government College of Agriculture, Halgaon. This Division was established in 1902 under the leadership of Prof. J. B. Knight (1902). Since the establishment, the main aim of the Agronomy section is to provide instruction in Agronomy subject to the undergraduate students of this College. For a long, time in the past Agronomy was the only solitary subject which was taught in all the four years of under graduate courses curriculum of B.Sc. Hons. (Agri.).

At present as per the decisions of V Deans Committee report this section offers 14 courses with 34 credit load and as per VI Dean Committee report offers 15 courses with 43 credits, respectively in agronomy subject to the under graduate students of the College.

1. 160 Farmers are trained regarding advanced technology in sugarcane Production, Production technology of red gram and black gram.
2. Appreciation from University Authority for participate in college development activity.
3. Development of College Farm. - 4.86 ha area under cultivation
4. Development of Agronomical Laboratory.
5. Implementation of Crop cafeteria for the agronomical practicals during kharif and rabi seasons.
6. Started the Sel counter for selling university product to the farming community from 2025.
