National Commission on Agriculture (1976) defined Agricultural Extension as a special branch of Extension Education which deals with the economic and social aspects of people engaged in or associated with agriculture. In this context, the Agricultural Extension Education Section of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government College of Agriculture, Halgaon is committed to serve farmers and educate students for welfare of farming community. This section is mainly working for transfer of innovative technologies of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri to farmers. As well as, students are helped to use democratic methods in educating the farmers, studying and solving the rural problems. Various extension activities are carried out in College namely training to farmers, farm women and youth, shetakari melawas, seed distribution programme, sale of extension literature etc. The Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) programme is run by this section to provide rural entrepreneurship awareness, practical experience in real-life situation in rural agriculture and creating awareness among undergraduate students about practical agriculture and allied sciences.
