The historically rich village Chaundi, the birthplace of dynamic queen Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyadevi Holkar is in Jamkhed taluka of district Ahilyanagar. To honour her visionary contribution in social development, agriculture development and betterment of farmers, this college is named as Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government College of Agriculture, Halgaon.
It is the constituent College of the Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri. It is very close to Chaundi village about 07 kms and about 17 kms from the National Highway 561A. The College is established on 5 July, 2016. The University headquarter is located in Rahuri, district Ahilyanagar 140 km to the north of Halgaon. The average annual rainfall of this area is 250 to 330 mm....
The location of college is 724.5± 2 mt. above from mean sea level (MSL) having 18.609194 Latitude and 75.23965 Longitude. So, Government of Maharashtra has sanctioned this College under scarcity condition of the state. The College encompasses total area of about 40.48 ha. The area of college falls under western plateau and hills region of India and scarcity zone of Maharashtra. The B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree is offered by this college. The degree programme is of four years duration spread over eight semesters.

Being an agriculture college, we focus on interactive classroom and infield practical education for the students.Even though the college has established in 2018 at Central Campus, it shifted in its own newly built-up campus on 1st May 2023. Since then, continuous efforts have been taken to fulfil the educational needs of the students.
Several educational activities like, Crop Cafeteria, Seed Plots, Shed net, Nursery bed preparation, Vermicompost beds, etc. are practiced at the College campus. The practical experience is given to the students in order to make them prepare for various career paths, viz., entrepreneurship, scientific research, agribusiness management and state services, etc. As a professional degree College, while surfing through the website, you will find the various activities undertaken at the campus for overall development of the students....
The College not only focuses on educational activities alone, but also encourage our students to participate in co-curricular activities like sports, NSS, competitive exams, talent hunt, etc. Coming towards the campus we have planted nearly 500 plants of biodiversity trees with an aim to create an oxygen park. Looking towards the water scarcity area of the College, we not only educate the students but empower them to be the future pioneers in agriculture.
We strive to boost the advance learning in agricultural sciences, contributing towards developing country’s economy, food security and livelihood.
